We are delighted to share a first look at our special ‘Shelter’ kiln wall at our new Atlas pathfinder factory in Walsall, West Midlands. The wall features 100s of engraved bricks which helped raise over £23,000 for Shelter UK to help the fight against the housing emergency in the UK.
A special thank you to a number of our colleagues, customers, community leaders and partners who purchased an engraved brick which now takes a ‘place in history’ at our Atlas factory. The factory is currently progressing through commissioning stage and once operational will produce our lowest carbon bricks including a new range of Carbon Neutral® bricks for our customers.
Jack London, Factory Manager said, "Atlas pathfinder factory will play a significant part in our journey to net zero but the development has focused not only on our environmental commitments but also on the positive social impact we can have as a business. Our fundraising efforts are just one example of this social impact and I am really proud that the engraved bricks are now permanently embedded in the new kiln wall, serving as a lasting reminder of the importance of safe, secure, and affordable housing for all."
Thank you to Ellen Myers from Shelter UK for coming to visit our Atlas factory and have a sneak peak of the special wall, whilst the team are busy progressing commissioning of the site.
Stay tuned to our social media channels in the coming weeks and months for closer-up pictures of some of the engraved bricks, as well as progress on our
Atlas pathfinder project.
